Mr. Spotted Bull Info

Mr. Spotted Bull, was bred by Jerry Nunneley of Saint Jo, Texas and was brought and sold many times until Victoria Ennis of Kingston, Oklahoma, became his final owner in 1992. 

Mr. Spotted Bull earned $6,912.67, with a 5-1-2-1 record with one stakes win during his racing career. A notorious sire, Mr. Spotted Bull produced a verstile crop of 405 registered foals. He held the leading sire of money earners title in 1977 and 1980 and in 1999 was the number six all-time leading sire of racing money earners.

Mr. Spotted Bull produced 196 race starters who have earned $870,613.51, 14 stakes wins, 33 stakes placed, 33 registers of merit in racing and 11 race medallions. His get have earned 290 performances points, 144 halter points, 16 registers of merit and 13 bronze medallions.

After arriving at Texoma Appaloosas, Bull (then age 19), became known as much for siring performance and suitability for Dressage horses as he had been for siring fine runners. His get were naturally elegant movers, sweepy and low hocked.  They made especially nice english horses, but could be found in almost any event. 

Mr. Spotted Bull was euthanized in May 1999, at 28 years of age after veterinarians were unable to surgically repair a broken bone. 

The above photo was taken of Mr. Spotted Bull at Remington in 1997.  This special acknowledgement included him leading an appaloosa post parade down the track for public recognition in honor of his" siring legacy. NEVER WILL THERE BE ANOTHER LIKE "BULL" . HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR HIS FLAMBOYANT ATTITUDE AND INCREDIBLE HEART.  GENERATIONS DOWN THE LINE, WE SEE HIM OFTEN SURFACING WITHIN THE GET OF "I LOVE WILLIE" AND BEYOND.  WE FEEL HONORED TO HAVE ENJOYED HIM IN OUR BARN FOR NINE YEARS AND TO HAVE MAINTAIN HIM LIKE THE CHAMPION HE ALWAYS WAS FOR THE LAST DECADE OF HIS LIFE.  BULL'S GREATNESS WAS NOT ONLY IN THE STATISTICS.   IT WAS HIS AURA, HIS KEENESS, AND IN THE TOTALITY OF HIS BEING WHICH MADE HIM SO UNORDINARILY SPECIAL.
